Take your shirt off. “ The door’s locked, ” Montgomery relays apprehensively, his head turning to glance at the girl standing behind him. “The fuck you mean it’s locked, ” she hisses, pushing past him to see for herself. She didn’t want to like him. He’s a dick of the douchiest variety. But not always, not all the time. After many late nights of doing research he got comfortable around her and relaxed. He would randomly ask her questions like “what do you think about multiverse theory? ” and “What’s the weirdest dream you’ve ever had? ” He would let her nap on the couch if she got tired while he continued to search for articles and would wake her up when he came across something that he found particularly exciting. He could be endearing when he wanted to be. They got close. Closer than she could have anticipated. One night the previous week they were making final edits on the project, laughing about this and that. She can’t remember what he said, but she playfully shoved his chest in response and he nudged her shoulder back and she kicked at his leg and then they were rolling around on the floor when he quietly mumbled, “come here, ” and she teasingly responded with, “I don’t think I can really get much closer, ” to which he whispered, “I think you can. ” And then he kissed her. She’d be lying if she said she hadn’t wondered what it would be like to kiss the infamous Montgomery De La Cruz. He was a prick, but a gorgeous one at that. All of the eye rolls and shit talking in the world couldn’t change the fact that given the opportunity, most of the girls at Liberty High would sell their soul to kiss the devil himself. She didn’t want to be the type to care what other people thought, but they could be so damn cruel, and she had kept such a pristine image so far. “Seriously? ” Monty snaps, pulling her out of her thoughts, “I’m literally the only other person in here and you’re still pretending like I don’t exist. ” “I’m very much aware of your existence, ” she quips, sitting on the edge of Jessica’s bed. She notices a variety of colored sharpies on the nightstand. “You’re just choosing to ignore it, ” he rolls his eyes. “I’m talking to you right now, aren’t I? ” she raises an eyebrow, feigning casualty. He snorts, running a hand through his hair. “I’m all you’ve got right now, so it doesn’t count for much. ” “Didn’t think you’d care all that much, ” she shrugs, leaning over to grab the colorful assortment of sharpies. “I kissed you and then you started avoiding me like the plague. How could I not care?! ” his voice raises in exasperation. “Because you’re you, ” her tone is serious as she looks him straight in the eye. “Yeah, yeah my reputation sucks. I’m awful, ” he glowers. “Only sometimes. You can be sweet when you want to be, ” she offers. “Not sweet enough for it to matter apparently. ” “ Take your shirt off. ” “What? ” he asks, taken aback. This conversation has taken an abrupt turn. “I’m gonna draw on you, ” she shakes the sharpies in her hand, “Gotta pass the time somehow. ” He’s somewhat startled and confused by the request, but his shirt still comes off as he makes his way over to the bed. He lies on his back as she straddles his lap, dragging the tip of a green sharpie down his side. She draws twisting vines with sharp thorns that could tear your skin if you got too close. But she also draws blooming roses that smell so sweet you can’t help but drift closer. It’s dangerous and beautiful, terrifying and inviting. It’s a lot like Monty. “You’re sending out some mixed signals you know, ” he looks up at her as she shades in a petal. One minute she’s ducking around corners to bypass his gaze and the next she’s straddling his half naked body. “I’m sorry, ” she mutters, her lip stuck between her teeth in concentration, “I like you, but your reputation is hard to swallow. ” He nods in understanding, watching her use him as a canvas. “Can I draw on you? ” “Sure, ” her eyes widen a bit in surprise. “Where? ” “Your back, ” he explains as she rolls off him and he sits up, switching places. She turns away from him, sliding her shirt off and unhooking her bra before laying chest down on the bed. He picks up a sharpie and she feels the cool ink on her skin. A shiver runs down her spine at the sensation. It’s a large design that takes up a majority of the two sides of her back. It feels like he’s drawing wings. “Angel wings? ” she asks, twisting her head at an attempt to get a look at him. “Good guess, ” he grins, nodding in affirmation. “Why? ” she laughs, “Cause I’m so etherial? ” “Something like that, ” he laughs, his one hand gripping her side tightly to keep her still. She likes the feeling of his skin on hers. “Can you keep a secret? she asks, biting her lip as she waits for a response. “What kind of secret? ” he asks, sitting back so his weight isn’t holding her down as much. She rolls over so she’s facing him, reaching up to place one hand at the back of his neck. They make it down the hall and Steve blocks with his shield busting through the window, and after a tuck and roll they’re both back up on their feet and on the run. Bucky is shot twice covering Steve, hitting the ground with a shout. Steve, summons the shield jet and it appears quickly. Just in time for Bucky to black out. Bucky moves gingerly through the hallway. Dr. Helen Cho has given him the green light but he’s still healing. When your door slides open he bites back a groan. “Hi Buck. ” You say softly, watching him from your doorway. “Hi Doll. ” He doesn’t move, staring at you from his spot in the hallway. “I know you’re hurt. ” “Steve wasn’t supposed to tell you. ” “He didn’t, ” you take his bag from him and he gives it up without a fight. “The only reason you’re not already kissin’ me is because you got hurt. ” You tell him from just in front of him and he laughs softly. His lips touch yours again and you meet him with just as much neediness, your hands tangling themselves in his hair. When the two of you finally come to a stop, you rest your forehead against his, not wanting to part from him, not yet. “You… being with you is the first thing I’ve wanted for myself in a long time, ” Julian says, cradling your face in his hands. You can’t help the sorrow welling up inside of you at the sadness in his voice, and tears prick the corners of your eyes. You shake your head, as if that will banish the sadness, too, but your efforts go to waste as the tears wet your cheeks. “Oh, oh no, please, ” you hear Julian say, “Don’t cry, my dear. You mustn’t. ” The concern in his voice only spurs you on, the tears flowing freely now. You look away from him, covering your mouth to silence your sobs, and Julian finds himself frozen. Resignation begins to form in him, though, as his beliefs are confirmed. He hurt you, just as he knew he would. No good could come from furthering things between the two of you. So, no matter how badly he wants to wrap you in his arms and kiss away the tears, Julian remains still in his place, hands clenched into fists. Only when your shoulders stop shaking and your sobs quiet does he lean forward, pressing just one, one more kiss to your forehead. He stands up, holding a hand to you to help you up, saying, “I’ll walk you home. ” So this was a little drabble I wrote a while ago for a post made by @letswriteaboutsebbaby, just making a separate post for it for my masterlist! You set your things down inside the entryway and wrapped your arms around him. His face nuzzled into the spot on your neck where it fit perfectly. You felt him relax under your touch as he exhaled a long breath, one it almost seemed like he had been holding. You kissed the exposed patch of skin you could reach on his neck. You felt him inhale your perfume, grounding himself in you, your touch, your warmth, your smell. He pulls back just enough to look you in the eyes. “It’s been a long day. ” He whispers in a rough voice. You place your palm on his cheek, cradling it. Taron had barely been able to sleep after they had decided to meet up a few days ago, to stroll through the city on a lovely walk. After a stop at a small, cozy café, where they enjoyed a lovely piece of cake and a cup of coffee, they went on a stroll through St. James Park. With it being such a nice day, they weren’t the only ones with this idea. Countless families, lovers and those who just wanted to enjoy a short break, flooded the park. But Taron and Y/N probably had the cutest expressions on. You could see it in both their faces how much they enjoyed spending time together. The animal just kept standing there, obviously enjoying the light petting. Taron smiled and stepped forward as well. “He seems to like you. ” “You not so much, ” Y/N chuckled, watching the pelican poke Taron’s legs. “What are you doing? ” the blonde laughed, trying to get away from the bird. He was still holding Y/N’s hand, forcing her to come with him and just seconds later they were running away from the animal what was now chasing them through the park. They noticed too late that they were running straight towards the Serpentine. They ran too fast to stop and with full force they ran into the waist-high fence, flying over it and finally rolling on the floor – landing in the shallow water. Simultaneously they snorted, breaking into full laughter while stroking water and wet strands of hair out of their faces. It took them almost five minutes to contain themselves, their laughter starting up again and again whenever somebody would pass and eye them with irritated looks. “That wasn’t planned, sorry, ” Taron apologized eventually. “Don’t worry, it was fun. ” Taron nodded while standing up. “Wait, I’ll help you up. ” He reached for her hands but the slippery stones made it hard to get a good grip – their recurring laughter not helping either – and splash! Y/N landed back in the water, Taron on top of her. That was enough to cause another laughing fit from the both of them. They barely noticed the passersby loudly complaining about them, both Taron and Y/N being too caught up in laughter and the fun they had together. Loud whistling finally made them look up. “Would you explain to me why you’re in the water? This is not allowed. ” “We’re so sorry! We’ll get out, ” Y/N addressed the officer, smiling sweetly at him. She knew it would work – and it did indeed. The police man nodded and even returned the smile. Taron was thankful to have her by his side, he’d already expected a fine. While the officer continued his walk through the park Taron turned to the girl still lying below him. “Time for me to get off you. ” “Pity, ” the girl dared to say, her cheeks taking a light pink color. “You think so? ” he too spoke very quietly but Y/N had heard him. She nodded. Grinning Taron lowered his face, closer and closer to hers, until their lips met. The whole world seemed to stop and for some seconds they forgot everything around them. A million butterflies celebrated in their tummies. The kiss burned like fire, a joyful glee erupting within them. It was the moment Taron had waited for ever since he’d first laid eyes on her. C orneliu Porumboiu is the film-maker whose movies such as Police, Adjective (2009) gave festival audiences a taste for his brand of bone-dry black comedy satirising bureaucracy and corruption in post- Ceaușescu Romania. Now he has put together this very watchable, rather exciting noir suspense thriller that has playful echoes of Neil Jordan’s Mona Lisa and even Orson Welles’ The Lady from Shanghai. Veteran Romanian actor Vlad Ivanov is Cristi, a corrupt Bucharest cop who has become involved in the drug-money-laundering setup he has been investigating. Huge amounts of cash are hidden in mattresses for export; these find their way to the island of La Gomera in the Canaries, where the bad guys are headquartered. Cristi has discovered that his superiors (themselves hardly impervious to bribes) suspect him and have placed secret surveillance cameras in his apartment. He knows exactly where they are but must carry on as normal. The fateful day comes when the drug lord’s beautiful girlfriend, Gilda (Catrinel Marlon), comes to meet Cristi. To fool the cops, she pretends to be a high-class sex worker and has sex with him in front of the secret cameras. The mobsters use it as a code that the police can’t crack. That whistling could well become a vital channel of communication between Cristi and the object of his unrequited love. Whistling also has other resonances that Porumboiu allows us to ponder. Cristi – and maybe his commanders – have ambiguous identities and loyalties. They could be whistleblowers of a sort, revealing the secrets of their masters (whether police officers or criminals); and they are also snitches, singing like canaries. (The advantage of Gomera’s whistling is that it sounds like birdsong to the uninitiated. ) Porumboiu gives us a knotty, twisty, nifty plot that’s quite involved but hangs together well, and there’s an amusing juxtaposition of gloomy, rainy Bucharest and the sunny terrain of La Gomera. This was an excellent, very well made exciting short film, which makes you sit on the edge of your seat. The dialogues and the performances were all convincing and the ending was cathartic. But unfortunately this movie is kind of a copy paste of a great danish movie called "The Guilty. If that movie didn't exist I would give this one a 10/10 rating, but the plot is so similar to "The Guilty" that it couldn't surprise me despite it's great presentation. Still I think this is the best of the Oscar nominated live action short films this year this year (I haven't seen SARIA yet.
